Unfortunately, Sweden is not converting to HD-format for a couple of years, which means that much of the TV-equipment in Sweden right now cannot decode the Danish signal.
Where I live in Scania I can get both Danish- and German channels although the latter are working only during the summer, strangely enough, due to weather conditions.
From the map below it is clear that it would quite easily be possible to 'fill in the gap' between Zealand and Bornholm to accommodate the whole of Scania propria with Danish digital broadcasts.
From that point it should not be such a stretch towards broadcasting into Blekinge and Halland also. You can always claim the growing Danish population in the former East Danish lands, i.e. now Southern Sweden. In theory that is...
Furthermore, why is it that a large chunk of Germany can receive Danish channels but neither southern Norway or the larger west coast of Sweden can?
Is this a good strategy for the future for the Nordic countries to keep the TV-landscape totally state-nationalistic?
What is the Nordic Council really thinking and doing on this matter? Probably nothing... but they really should.
