Malmö travesty

We finally experienced the Quarterfinal of the Eurovison Song Contest (Melodifestivalen) in Malmö for this year.

What a travesty!

I will not even try and argue if the correct song won or not, I really do not care. I would rather arrogantly declare that it is beneath my dignity... but that is just me. I know other people do not share this opinion.

What I do care about is why they arranged it in Malmö at all?

Almost all the people in the production are from the middle of Sweden. All of the people singing in Swedish in the contest are singing in a Reichsswedish variant, even if they speak something else. People singing in other dialects or regional languages are discriminated, but for some reason it is okay to sing in English (?).

Everything is so unlogical and artificial.

A chance for Malmö and Scania to promote itself in Sweden and the neighboring countries Denmark, Norway, Finland etc. are lost forever.

It is, no doubt, another case of Swedenization in our time.
